The Love Contract
A while back I was over at my new Sister in Laws house and I was sitting on the couch reading to a couple of her kids. We were snuggled up
quite comfortably when all of the sudden one of them jumped and said “I’ll be
right back”.
This one:
She came back with a piece of paper she had drawn on and
asked me if I would sign it.
When she first gave it to me it read:
This states that Lee B___ loves Emily M___.
I don’t know if she was feeling a little bit insecure,
or just suddenly decided she needed a written confirmation to make this
official.
After a brief study of the wording
(Always read the fine
print!)
I asked her if she was trying to trick me.
When she asked “why”, I said “This is looks kinda one sided.”
So I asked her to add a clause.
Here is the final Love contract:
If the photo doesn’t show up well it reads:
Lee B____ loves Emily M___.
I love Lee B____.
(last names have been removed to protect the innocent...and guilty!)
We both signed it.
Mine is a little sloppy because I was
using my leg as a writing surface.
Why yes Emily, I do. I don’t know why you would have any
doubts.
